What we do when called in.

The same full-time crews, materials, and people who work for us year-round — ready to scale up when a storm hits.
  • A

    Storm restoration

When a hurricane, ice storm, or tornado damages a utility’s system, we deploy crews to help rebuild distribution and transmission lines. This work is coordinated through regional mutual-aid groups.

  • B

    Replacing damaged poles

After a major storm, thousands of poles often need replacement. Our crews mobilize within 12 hours with field engineers who can adjust the plan as damage assessments come in.

  • C

    Repairing damaged wire

Repairing wire that has come down or been damaged — including using helicopters when ground access is cut off by flooding or debris.

  • D

    Long-stay deployments

Some storms need crews on site for two weeks or longer. We handle the lodging, meals, fuel, and crew rotations so our people stay safe and productive throughout the work.

  • E

    Mobile substations

When a substation is damaged or destroyed, we can deploy a mobile substation alongside the line crews so power can be restored faster than rebuilding from scratch.

What happens after the call comes in.

From the moment a storm response call comes in to the moment our crews are on the ground.
  1. 01

    The call

A call comes in from a regional mutual-aid group or directly from a utility. We make the go/no-go decision within 4 hours and start the mobilization clock.

  2. 02

    Mobilizing

Full-time crews assemble at their yards, materials get loaded onto trucks, and convoys head toward the affected area — all within 12 hours of the call.

  3. 03

    Setting up

We establish a forward base camp near the work area — with lodging, fuel, meals, and tool maintenance — so crews are ready to work on day one.

  4. 04

    Restoring power

Crews work daily under the utility’s emergency command structure, restoring service one section at a time and reporting progress every day.

  5. 05

    Wrapping up

As customers come back online, crews start heading home. We package the final reporting and cost-recovery documentation for the utility or federal agency that called us.
